ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION

The school was established in 1975 by the Kotka Finnish-American Society (Kotkan Suomi-Amerikka Yhdistys -- SAY), a non-profit organization geared towards learning about foreign cultures. The SAY Board of Directors is the main decision-making body for the kindergarten. The school is supported finanically by the city of Kotka, tuition fees and various fund-raising activities. Donations from local businesses and service clubs are welcome.

Elections for the 11 member SAY Board of Directors take place annually in March. This year’s Board of Directors includes: Chairman Olli Karttunen; Vice Chairman Anita Härkisaari and Secretary Seija Ollila.
